Hello! I'm Liv,
a passionate
psychological counsellor
I'm originally from the sun-kissed beaches of Sydney, but now I call Zug, Switzerland, my home. My passion for psychology developed at an early age. Early on, I felt like an observer, quietly absorbing the world around me. I often felt a sense of detachment, as if the world around me was either racing ahead or lagging behind ― it was always just out of reach. This feeling of detachment sparked a question that has driven me to where I am today ― how do we connect? And, not just with other people, but with ourselves and the world around us.

I hold a Master of Science in Clinical Psychology, alongside my Bachelor of Psychological Science. In my professional experience, I have worked in multiple fields, across mental health, social justice (out-of-home-care and disability), and specialised healthcare. In the early stages of my career, I utilised my passion for art into obtaining a Bachelor's degree in Communication Design and freelancing as a Graphic Designer.
My professional philosophy is grounded in building relationships based on trust, honesty, and openness. I highly value authenticity and humour, finding solace in their ability to navigate through the awkward, the uncomfortable, and the unknown. My previous colleagues state that I “embody a deep understanding of the complexities surrounding mental health and have an intrinsic ability to educate and guide clients and their families."

One of my core values and beliefs is the importance of playfulness. To illustrate, one quote I love comes from the closing pages of Winnie the Pooh. In this poignant moment, Christopher Robin tells his beloved friends, the toy animals, that he has to go to school and he won't be able to play with them as much anymore. The book ends with the statement:
"... but wherever they go, and whatever happens to them on the way, in that enchanted place on the top of the Forest, a little boy and his Bear will always be playing."
― A.A. Milne, The House at Pooh Corner

At times, as we journey through life, we sacrifice our "sparkle" – our sense of playfulness and joy. When did we lose our playfulness and joy? Why did we lost it? And, where can we find it again?

I believe that the journey toward healing is illuminated by rediscovering our innate playfulness and joy. By rediscovering our playfulness and joy, we can always keep playing in that enchanted place, on the top of the forest.
With love, Liv xx

I am here to guide you in re-connecting with your inner self and to explore within.
THERAPEUTIC SERVICES
Individual Session
The Individual Session is a 1-on-1 therapeutic session. These appointments last for 60 minutes and will be conducted online. However, for clients in the Cantons of Zug, Lucerne and Zürich (Switzerland), Outdoor Therapy is available. These sessions are typically 60 or 90 minutes.

60 or 90 MINUTES
How does it work?
//
Step 1
The first step is to book an Introductory Call. This call can be booked via the "book now" link above or via email. In this call, we'll explore your reasons behind pursuing therapy and discuss how best I can support you.
Step 2
After the Introductory Call, there will be the Initial Session. In the Initial Session, I will conduct an assessment to understand your history, concerns and challenges. Then, together, we will discuss and set your therapeutic goals.
Step 3
After the Initial Session, we will begin working together towards your therapeutic goals. These sessions are scheduled regularly and consistently (e.g., weekly, bi-weekly) to align with your goals. Progress is regularly monitored, and adjustments to the treatment plan are made as needed to ensure your continued growth and well-being.

More about my approach

MY APPROACH
Online
Sessions
We all long to be seen, heard, understood and loved. We heal when we feel safe in relationships, connected with our bodies, our breath, the present moment, and one another. At the heart of re-connecting with oneself, lies the question: what's blocking this connection? With fierce compassion and curiosity, we will work together to answer this question.
I draw on a variety of different theoretical orientations, approaches, and techniques in my work with clients. Operating from a humanistic and person-centred framework, I regularly incorporate elements of cognitive-behavioural therapy (CBT), emotion-focused therapy (EFT), narrative therapy, and mindfulness-based interventions into my practice. In addition, I am influenced by Dr. Gabor Maté’s Compassionate Inquiry, inner-child meditative practice, and somatic experiencing.
The goal of these sessions are to drill down to the core stories people tell themselves:
-
What story are you living unconsciously?
-
What are those beliefs?
-
Where did they come from?
Then, to guide you to the possibility of letting go of those stories. Or, letting go of the hold those stories have on you.
Outdoor
Sessions
In our outdoor sessions, there is a safe and non-judgmental space for you to explore your thoughts, feelings, and experiences. The natural environment can encourage moments of openness and vulnerability. Thus, it allows us to re-connect more deeply with ourselves.
By being outdoors, in different landscapes, we're able to integrate mindfulness techniques, such as mindful walking, breathing and meditation. The natural environment provides a rich backdrop for mindfulness practice, encouraging sensory awareness and grounding in the present moment.
For those who may not feel comfortable in the online setting, the outdoor setting provides a calm and welcoming space to reconnect. Here, you can explore past wounds, unmet needs, and core beliefs in a soothing and expansive environment.
